Netscape Communicator 4.04 Beta 2 just expired
today September 15 by bug and IBM have not fix in Communicator's Beta Program Home
Page. Communicator 4.04 Beta for OS/2, according to the readme, should expire on
September 30, 1998 . I found the following posted in the Netscape Beta Testers Mailing
List by Steffen Mosner: "lxlite 1.2.1 to unpack netscape.exe and 'patch.exe
noexp.pat /a' to modify it."
NOTE: The original
patch had a bug that grayed out the "Get Mail". You must use your original netscape.exe and apply the Updated Patch below:

lxlite 1.2.1 to unpack netscape.exe and 'patch.exe noexp.pat /a' to modify
it.
noexp.pat :
FILE NETSCAPE.EXE
VER 183583 7D0F
CHA 183583 9090

CHA 183588 9090
Here is complete instructions for applying the
"patch":
Download lxlt121.zip. Put in temp directory, unzip and install.
Create a file called noexp.pat and put in the following:
FILE NETSCAPE.EXE
VER 183583 7D0F
CHA 183583 9090
VER 183588 750A
CHA 183588 9090Save to temp directory
Copy the NETSCAPE.EXE into the temp directory.
Open OS/2 window and change to the x:\lxlite directory.
Type lxlite.exe /X+ x:\temp\NETSCAPE.EXE (this will unpack NETSCAPE.EXE)
Switch to x:\temp and type patch noexp.pat /a
The result should be "Patches applied to NETSCAPE.EXE"
Switch to x:\lxlite directory and type lxlite.exe x:\temp\NETSCAPE.EXE (this will
repack NETSCAPE.EXE)
Reboot and when the white box appears in the left corner of the screen hit alt+f1.
Select F2 to go to command line.
Change to x:\netscape\program and rename NETSCAPE.EXE.
Type copy x:\temp\NETSCAPE.EXE
Type exit and machine will reboot and you can now use Comm/2.
