 Hi All.
I'm just testing on my OS/2 Client Warp 4.5 9Warp 4.0 + FP13) and on my Server Windows NT4 SP6 the new alpha releases of File Commander, famous file manager developed by the Australian programmer Brian Havard (photo). I'm registered user of this nice tool and purchased my license in BMT Micro, Inc., the most complete reseller of software for OS/2. If you are interested in test this alpha you must jump to Brian's Alpha web page at:

If you are a everyday user of File Commander like me I remember you that you must be install this alpha in a separate directory, in order to not make confusion, because the objects created in the desktop of Warp or NT for both releases (the GA 2.12 e the alpha 2.20a) are identical. In the photo below you can see the alpha for Windows NT, that is running just fine on my Server:

Tecnical information

File Commander is a 32 bit text mode file manager and shell that allows you to locate, copy, move, delete, view, edit and execute your files in a quick, convenient and customizable manner.

It's main display provides dual directory view panels that may serve as source and destination of a copy or move operation or just two different views of your files. A panel may also be used to view a directory tree, drive statistics or may be turned off altogether, making visible the output of previously executed commands.

A command line is also provided and operates in conjuction with the directory panels to make it much more powerful than a regular CLI including pasting file names from the panel, a command history recall window and command completion from history.
