Professional 6 Public Beta 4

HotDog 6 Public Beta 4 is now available for download! This release features improvements to resource usage, subdirectory support in local servers, as well as much more!

There have been a number of items fixed, tweaked, poked and played with so all comments, feedback and bug reports are invaluable to us.

As usual, you can either email your bug reports to hd6bugs@sausage.com, or start a new thread for each topic within this public beta area.

 Start Mandatory (but often ignored) Beta Testing Warning:

Beta means that:

1. It' s not finished yet ...
2. Sausage haven't tested it thoroughly yet ...
3. There will be numerous bugs ...
4. It will more than likely crash from time to time ...

Worst case it could do permanent damage to your particular system ..

Although Sausage have tested the software internally this is no guarantee

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE USING BETA SOFTWARE PLEASE WAIT UNTIL THE FINAL HOTDOG 6 RELEASE IN Q1 2000.

Having said this we have installed and tested previous versions of HD6 on numerous machines over the last few months with no major issues.

This release will expire on the 29th of February.

New features within Public Beta 4.

Can open files by dragging them onto the main HotDog form.
Local server previews includes the subdirectories of specified local drives.
Can view hexadecimal values in code completion.

Known Issues:

Must have closing tags when adding properties with the Property Sheet
Cannot disable Syntax Highlighting.
HTML help doesn't reflect the tag selected within the Property sheet.
No Partner Application integration
Printing is not yet available

Fixed Issues:

Document Properties will not freeze on CSS files.
Property Sheet, MultiLine Clipboard and Code Completion resource usage fixes.
Color picker and frameset toolbar buttons can be customized.
Macro Shortcut keys fix.

Remember:

When describing problems please remember comments like "the program doesn't do what I wanted it to, it sucks, you guys suck..., etc." or "the program crashed..." don't help us in the slightest. When you send us feedback you need to describe your experience in great detail or we won't know what you are talking about, and we won't be able to fix it. To fix bugs Sausage need to isolate the reason for the problem and the quickest way to do this is the process of elimination and being able to consistently reproduce the problem by doing something specific. If you can do this elimination and concisely describe how you reproduced the problem, Sausage will be able to fix it a lot quicker.
