  Setting a new record for Internet performance, a  12-way IBM RS/6000 S80 Enterprise Server, running  a pre-release of AIX 4.3.3, delivered a SPECweb96  benchmark result of 40,161 HTTP operations per  second, 66 percent better than Hewlett-Packard's  previous best results. AIX 4.3.3 will offer Java,  Web performance, and scalability enhancements.

  IBM's new RS/6000 S80 Enterprise server has almost  doubled the best Java performance claim to date,  and has set a world record for Web serving. A  6-way RS/6000 S80 with a pre-release of AIX 4.3.3,  running the VolanoMark test, transferred 22,906  messages per second, 92 percent more than previous  top results posted by Hewlett-Packard.
