OS/2 FixPak 35 and FixPak 6 News

OS/2 Warp 3 FixPak 35 and OS/2 Warp 4 FixPak 6 both contain Year 2000
fixes.

A problem has been found with FixPak 35 on some systems with
non-Intel CPUs. Some of these systems are experiencing TRAP 0006 or
hangs at boot-up after installing FixPak 35. The fix for this problem
is included in this issue of the IBM Technical Connection, on Volume
B2, under Software Fixes and Updates. Select OS/2 Warp 3, then select
the "OS/2 Warp v3 FixPak 35 (XR_W035) - Additional Files" package.

A problem with some faster Intel systems (166Mhz or faster) hanging
when OS/2 Warp 3 is installed has been found. IBM has released a set
of updated OS/2 Loader files (OS2LDR) to correct this problem. This
fix is also in the "OS/2 Warp v3 FixPak 35 (XR_W035) - Additional
Files" package described above.

A problem has been found when using the Development Technologies
Deskman/2 product with FP35 or FP6 installed. A SYS3175 error in
DOSCALL1.DLL occurs when running the DM2IMAGE program. The fix is a
replacement DOSCALL1.DLL file. The OS/2 Warp 3 fix includes a UNI and
SMP fix. The fix for OS/2 Warp 3 can be found in the "OS/2 Warp v3
FixPak 35 (XR_W035) - Additional Files" package described above. The
fix for OS/2 Warp 4 can also be found on Volume B2, under Software
Fixes and Updates. Select OS/2 Warp 4, then select the "OS/2 Warp v4
FixPak 6 (XR_M006) - Additional Files" package.

New IBM Support Telephone Number:

IBM Support has a new telephone number: 1-800-237-5511. To get
support for the IBM Technical Connection CD-ROM, call this number and
select Option 1, then select Option 3.

FixPaks for Multiple Languages:

While most products provide separate fixpaks for each language they
support, a few products include all supported languages in one fixpak
package. If in the IBM Technical Connection you cannot find a
particular fixpak you are looking for under your language, check the
"multi language" category (on Volume B3), or check English U.S.
(Volumes B1 - B3).

Information about DB2 FixPaks:

Due to space limitations, we cannot currently provide all available
DB2 fixpaks. If you are not able to obtain fixpaks from the DB2 FTP
site (ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/fixes), then
please contact your local DB2 Support Group. They can provide
information about available fixpaks and will be able to send you a
DB2 fixpak CD through the mail.
