After several months of mystery and suspense finally the IomegaWare version 2.2 for Windows 2000 is out! To download this giant file (15.6MB) you must jump Iomega web site and fill the appropriate form. During the Windows 2000 Beta Tester period we downloaded IomegaWare 2.0 for Windows NT and crashed because Iomega was not published a disclaimer in his web site. We reported this faillure and Iomega added the disclaimer "Important Notice Iomega currently does not offer software support for some operating systems, such as Windos 2000 and Linux, and for operating systems in Beta testing cycles."

IomegaWare™ software 2.2 for Microsoft® Windows® 2000 is here. This easy-to-use software suite provides integrated features that help you find, format, protect, and manage your stuff on Iomega® Zip®, Jaz®, and Clik!™ PC Card drives and disks. Desktop icons provide direct access to your Iomega drives, and "right-click" enabling lets you use even more IomegaWare features.

IomegaWare 2.2 includes our most popular software programs, including Iomega® QuikSync; IomegaWare™ Commander; and Backup 4.0, the enhanced combination of Iomega's 1-Step™ Backup and Backup97 applications. IomegaWare™ 2.2 is also compatible with Windows 95, 98, and Windows NT® 4.0. A Macintosh® version is planned soon. Note: IomegaWare 2.2 is compatible with all Iomega drives except Clik!™ Parallel Port and ZipCD™ drives. IomegaWare 2.2 is not compatible with RecordIt™ software, and will uninstall RecordIt software if previously installed on your system.

 There are two ways to download IomegaWare™ 2.2 for Windows® 2000.

Integrated Download. This is one download consisting of a single 15.6MB file. Because of the large file size, this download option is suggested for high-speed Internet access, such as a T1 or LAN. This option may also be attractive to standard internet access users, because you can start the download and leave the computer for awhile. But remember, it takes about 90 minutes with a 56K modem.

Modular Download. This download is still the complete version of IomegaWare™ 2.2, but we've broken it down into several compressed files to make the download times quicker. This is probably the best option for standard internet users with a 56K or slower modem.

Here are a few steps that will assist you in successfully downloading and installing the modular version of IomegaWare™ software 2.2. All downloadable files for the PC will be in the form of self-extracting executable files.

Step One. Create a new folder on your hard drive.

Step Two. When you click on the first IomegaWare™ 2.2 file to download, choose "Save the file to disk." Save the downloaded file to the folder you created in Step One.

Step Three. Repeat this process until you have downloaded all four parts of the download.

NOTE: You must download ALL FOUR components, and save them in the same file on your hard drive BEFORE beginning the installation process.

Step Four. Verify that all four downloaded files are present in the folder you created. Double-click on each of the files (1-4) that you just downloaded, and they will automatically extract to the folder. You should see the files become visible in the folder as they decompress.

Step Five. Once all four files have been decompressed, find and double-click on setup.exe. This will begin the IomegaWare™ 2.2 installation process.

NOTE: You may wish to save all four self-extracting files to an Iomega® Zip®, Jaz®, or Clik™ disk so they will be easily available if you ever need to reinstall your IomegaWare™ software.
