SFS Software,
from Schmalkalden, Germany, announced a new version of it's certified 100% pure
Java compression utility iavaZIP. iavaZip is the worlds first 100% pure Java(tm) compression
utility. iavaZIP's key advantage is that it lets you create archives containing
files from multiple folders and subfolders -- even from different volumes -- in
the same session. This compression utility was successful tested in my Warp 4.0
and I recommend it to all OS/2 users! In this morning I was working with iavaZIP,
and decide make it my default zip-engine.I just compressed my entire Site (907,904,760
bytes, 54 subdirectories, 2,129 files) with iavaZIP, recurse subfolders and 17%
ratio compression. The zip have 80,718,735 bytes and the time used in complete process
is exactly 8 minutes. All longnames perfectly preserved.

SFS Software, from Schmalkalden, Germany, announced a new version of it's certified
100% pure Java compression utility iavaZIP. The full-featured, pioneering file compression
program offers some unique features. The trial archive for OS/2 users is iavazip_java_install.class
(418,9K). To install it simple put the file in a temp directory and tip:
java iavazip_java_install
iavaZIP's key advantage is that it lets you create archives containing files
from multiple folders and subfolders -- even from different volumes -- in the same
session.
You simply create a new archive and then click the import button to open an Explorer-like
tree from which you can pick and choose files at will. This means that you are no
longer limited one folder at a time to zip and extract files.
This pioneering utility provides additional exciting features: iavaZIP's integrated
viewer is able to show contents of images (bmp, gif, jpg, and tga) and text files
as well as Binary-, Html-, Vrml- files. Java classes are also supported through
iavaZIP's internal classbrowser.
iavaZIP is compatible with PKZIP, supports 10 compression levels and runs cross-platform
on every Java 1.1 supported operating system like Windows 95/NT, Unix, Linux, SGI,
AIX and OS/2. The Java Archive format (JAR) is also supported.

The product is available now through shareware distribution and is priced at
$49 for the standard single user license. Also available are Academic Single user
