MANAGER WITH STANDARDS-BASED
INTERNET SCHEDULING
Lotus Organizer 5.0 is the first personal
information manager (PIM) to offer standards-based
Internet scheduling. The iCalendar-based
scheduling in Organizer 5.0 enables using the
Internet to arrange meetings. Organizer 5.0 also
has enhanced contact management, synchronization
with popular personal digital assistants,
improved time and information management, and

Lotus Outlines New, Aggressive
Efforts to Support cc:Mail Base
Lotus' new educational and marketing campaign will
help Lotus cc:Mail customers to evaluate their
messaging upgrade choices. The campaign features
free, half-day, in-depth seminars from Lotus and
Lotus Business Partners, titled "Timely Solutions
for Your Messaging Future". The seminars debut on
10 September and will take place in 39 North

Lotus Introduces First Just-in-Time
Training Portfolio for Lotus Notes
New, just-in-time training products give Lotus
Notes users self-paced resources to help them
maximize the technology, particularly between the
time of deployment and formal training. The first
such product is QuickCards for Notes 4.6, which
has step-by-step instructions for quickly becoming
a productive Notes user. Future just-in-time tools
will focus on migrating smoothly to Notes,
updating quickly to new versions, and helping to

Nominations Taken for
Fifth Annual Beacon Awards
Lotus' annual Beacon Awards, presented in January
at Lotusphere, honor Business Partners who have
demonstrated excellence in providing leading-edge
solutions. The 1999 Lotus Beacon Award categories
reflect Lotus' key Internet technologies: Lotus
Domino, eSuite, Domino Instant Host, and
LearningSpace. Award nominations will be taken
through 8 November. For the first time, Lotus will
produce a CD of all winner and finalist product
