Windows
2000 Professional Beta Tester
(Screenshots by Embellish)
Hi All. I Windows puppets. Hi, people that is surfing on the Net for joking and entertainment. If you are disappointed with MSN Explorer, I recommend that you suck this Netscape 6 GA and enjoy it. It is just for you! I'm testing this fine piece of software since the first beta and now, after 32 months (fantastic!!) of gestation, finally the extra-long awaited GA is out! I just tested it on my Windows 2000 Professional installed in a obsolete Pentium 200 test machine, with 128MB RAM (EDO) in order to evaluate it. This new browser runs fine, is fast and reliable. I tested it with his Java on the Anfy applets page, as you can see in the photo bellow:

In this photo, made by my registered, obsolete and discontinued Embellish, you can see the Java icon at the right corner of the bottom of the page and the applet loaded is The Tunnel. Netscape 6 GA load Java applets very fast and before show it running presents all the lines of the code that must be loaded. In order to give a complete GA installation you must be download 21 modules (including the Java). The only problem I verified during my test is simply Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x runs on Java applets rather that this Netscape 6. An also the latest version of Communicator that I'm using here (4.74) also runs on Java applets rather than Netscape 6. Here is my evaluation on this comparison:
In first: Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.1 10
In second: Netscape Navigator 4.74 8
In third: Netscape 6 GA 7

I consider that Netscape 6 GA is a very fine browser, but, sincerely, for me, with this release, Netscape in deceased and buried. I verified that this one was born obsolete and one of his great problems is that it can't read correctly HTML 4 or the latest forms, cells and tables. Such as the Preview Release 3 this GA deforms all banners that are inserted into tables, because it can't read correctly the code. The some pages that was deformed by Netscape 6 was loaded absolutely correctly by Navigator 4.74 and by MS IE 5.x. Another big problem is the excessive delay consumed by Netscape 6 to perform a simples start. The delay is tremendous and you have time to make dozens of screenshots as this below (the GA starting on my test machine):

In this photo, you can see Take 5, Real Player Basic, Net2Phone and Free AOL & Unlimited Internet icons (all unsolicited) created by the automated Netscape 6 GA Install on my Desktop.

In the photo above you can see Netscape 6 GA Install configuring Real Player in Windows 2000 Professional. I'm forced to recognize that the Netscape Install perform all configuring tasks very fine. All keys are absolutely correct inserted in the Windows 2000 Registry and no problems are generated. I compared this Install with the MSN Explorer Install and I verified that MSN insert some errors in the Windows 2000 Registry (!!!).

Well, Netscape 6 GA presents several innovations and aims to be a very advanced browser. Unfortunately theory and reality conflicted in this case. If you are a beginner seeking for innovations such as NetPhone (photo brlow)

...etc you will be very happy with this Netscape 6 GA. But if you are an experienced surfer I suppose that you will prefer Neoplanet...
