I'm informed that Star Division is quietly working to make a new version of StarOffice, the 5.1. I'm not talking about the filter update, I'm talking about a new version, that implements several enhancements, including fundamental browser modifications.
Actually Star Browser used as HTML editor generates a code that not correctly loaded by some browsers, including Netscape. Star Division is just fixing this bug (if this defficiency can be called <bug>) and the new version of StarOffice will be generates a perfect code.
The number of StarOffice users is increasing day-by-day because this suite runs on all platforms and the user is no more based on only one Operating System: you can runs StarOffice in the some way on OS/2 Warp Server for e-business (actually beta- called Aurora), Warp 4 and 3, Solaris, Linux, Windows 95/98 and NT (including 2000).
Because this facility a lot of users of only one OS was migrated to others sucesfully. I, @Macarlo, am using here StarOffice 5.0 Personal Edition, running just fine on all platforms.
The new version of StarOffice, I'm informed, will be implement dozens improvements suggested in SO users's mailing lists.
