Hi All.
Finally
I can run fine StarOffice 5.1 on OS/2 Warp. I installed Java 1.1.8
and now this fine release, version 5.1a by Sun Microsystems is using
68% of my Pentium 200 CPU resources. The former version, 5.1 by
StarDivision unfortunately consumes 100%.

I downloaded the new version (65
megabytes) from an alternative FTP site that was indicated to me by
the computer guru Renee Senger because yesterday the StarOffice area
on the Sun web site has experienced problems and any register
(required for download) can't be performed. With my username and
regular password I could make all that I needed but register for
StarOffice download I simply couldn't.
I unpacked so51a_os2_01.exe
quickly, smooth and with absolute precision by a simple click into
FileStar/2. Created the tree for the install process I clicked the
setup.exe inside FilStar/2 and the Setup started as you can see in
the photo below:

When I started the setup the 5.1a
Install encountered in drive H the StarOffice 5.1 directory and I'm
forced to uninstall it by request as you can see in the photo below:

I'm
supporting StarOffice since the first version because this suite runs
exactly equal on all platforms. Using StarOffice you can manage a big
web site on OS/2 Warp and can update it from Linux, Solaris, Windows
98/NT/2000 conserving the same code, including HTML 4. version 5.1
generates a more clean code (version 5.0 have some problems,
generating dirty code and the webmaster is forced to depurate it
everytime using a text editor for programmers as Boxer or MED. Using
the enhanced StarEdit you also need depuration, but this task can be
performed weekly.
