Vehicle Win Coveted InfoVision Awards at the 1998 National Communications Forum PALO ALTO, CALIF. - Sun Microsystems, Inc. October
6, 1998 announced that the SunTM EnterpriseTM 2 server, JavaTM StudioTM software
and Network Vehicle were named winners of this year's InfoVision Awards. In keeping
with its 54-year old mission to bring the highest quality and most innovative forms
of education to the industry, the International Engineering Consortium developed
the InfoVision Awards Program to recognize the industry's most original products
based on innovation, uniqueness, market impact, customer benefit and value to society.
Sun Microsystems was honored this week at the 1998 National Communications Forum
in Chicago, Illinois.

The InfoVision Awards Committee, composed of manufacturers and service provider
chairpersons and executives, editors of leading professional journals and faculty
from prestigious engineering universities, selected the Sun Enterprise 2 server,
Java Studio software and Network Vehicle from among hundreds of nominees as exemplary
products that will most likely have a positive impact on the growth and advancement
of the information industry.

The Network Vehicle is a joint technology effort
by Delco Electronics, IBM Corporation, Netscape Communications and Sun Microsystems,
