 Textractor is a text monitor for Windows 2000/NT. It captures and logs all text a program writes to the screen. Some programs write information so fast that your eye can't read it. Many programs write lots of text without supporting the Windows clipboard. Textractor gives you the chance to capture all text an applications outputs without having to retype it or using an OCR program.
Textractor also works with console applications.

It is as simple and straightforward as it sounds: specify a program, click Run and all text your program outputs will be captured by Textractor.

System Requirements

A PC running Windows 2000 or NT 4.0 and 2MB Free hard disk space. Also, version 4.70 or higher of COMCTL32.DLL should be installed on the system. Bare Windows NT 4.0 installations with no Internet Explorer 3 or higher installed may have this problem. The program checks for this at startup and proposes to download a Microsoft distributed update if necessary.

Selecting an application

To start using Textractor, first select an application of which you would like to capture the text output. To do so, simply drag any file or shortcut on the main window. If you know the exact location of the executable file, you can type it in, or otherwise click the Browse button. If there are any command line parameters you would like to pass to the application, you can specify them. If you are unsure about this option, leave the field blank.

Running the application

Once you have selected an application, press the Run button. The application will start and any text it outputs will be displayed in the main window of Textractor. 
The first column will tell display the time a line of text was written to the screen, the second column will display the line of text that was written. To make sure that monitored lines of text will be displayed by Textractor, ensure that the Capture Text box is checked.
