Hi All...
I just tested here this nice freeware called TransText that was indicated to me by a friend. If you click his icon immediately the text of all icons you have in Windows desktop have the background changed to transparent, as you can see in the photo below:

In this photo the TransText icon was clicked and all text now are transparent

TransText is a small shell extension for Windows95/98/NT, which will allow the user to have tranparent background color in the icon caption area, thereby getting rid of the irritating one-colored rectangles covering your nice background image. The application resides in the system tray bar, and is only active when the background image is updated in connection with changed resolution or other system changes.

Using TransText you can change the colours of the icon's text and also choose a color for his backgroun if you don't want transparency. TransText creates a small icon in the Windows task bar and can be started at the boot. If you click your mouse (right) on the TaskBar icon three options are displayed and one is for set transparency and colours for text's background and for text, as you can see in the photo below:

Last week I was testing the new Microsoft Internet Explorer (beta 5.5) on my Windows NT4 SP6 when I received an e-mail from the OS/2 guru Sandro Coana about TransText. I visited the developers web site and downloaded this little soft, freeware (trt105.exe, 700,78KB). I tested it, version 1.05, on my Windows NT4 and also on my Windows 2000, where TransText also runs fine, as you can see in the photo below:

Note that in Windows 2000 icon's text are transparent by default. Using TransText you can change the colour of the texts, but when you use it your background desktop is automatically changed from the default blue for total black as you can see in the photo above. In the photo below you can see the first steep of TransText install process:
