 Great news!!
Finally SemWare released the long-awaited TSE Pro/32 Version 3.0, with a lot of improvments, including full undo/redo available on his normal menu. I'm registered user of two versions (the TSE Pro/32 and the release for DOS environment (2.5) - this one I use it on OS/2 WPS and runs just fine. I tested the new version on my Windows 2000 Professional (Workstation). TSE Pro/32 3.0 install easy and quickly, without problems, without complicated  insertions in the Registry. If you decides uninstall it, simply delete his directory and that is all. Below you can see two screens from the install process:

I will not write an extensive report about TSE Pro/32 just because this one is simply the most perfectly and famous editor for programmers' available in all the world. If you are seeking for the best, this one is TSE Pro/32.

This new version runs fine on Windows 2000 environment and now all programmers working on this platform can make code with TSE Pro/32.

Summary of New/Enhanced Features in
the Semware Editor Professional/32 V3.0

In version 3.0 of The SemWare Editor Professional/32, a number of new features have been added, and some existing features have been modified.

New user-level commands:

Undo    <Alt Backspace> on the Text menu

Allows you to undo the last change done to the text. Invoking undo again will undo the next to last change, and so on.

Redo    <AltShift Backspace> on the Text menu

Allows you to cancel the last undo. Invoking redo again will cancel the next to last undo, and so on. The redo information is deleted anytime another change is made to the text, except if the change was made via the undo or redo command.

ToggleHorizVertical

When there are only two windows, they may be toggled between vertical and horizontal windows.

CutToWinClip     <CtrlShift Grey-> on the Clip menu

Similar to the CopyToWinClip command, this command copies the marked block to the Windows Clipboard, and then deletes the block from the editor.

CutAppendToWinClip     on the Clip menu

Similar to the CutToWinClip command, this command copies the marked block to the Windows Clipboard, appending it to any text already in that clipboard, and then deletes the block from the editor.

CopyAppendToWinClip    on the Clip menu

Similar to the CopyToWinClip command, this command copies the marked block to the Windows Clipboard, appending it to any text already in that clipboard.

Empty Clipboard     on the Clip menu

Deletes the text currently in the editor's clipboard.

Browse Mode    on the Options menu

This option determines if the currently edited file can be changed or not. If Browse Mode is on, the file can not be changed by editing commands, and cannot be saved to disk. If Browse Mode is off, the file can be changed via normal editing commands.

Change Dir    on the File Menu

Allows you to change the editor's current working directory, without typing the entire directory name.

New File    on the File Menu

Windows Clipboard enhancements:

The editor can now cut and paste column blocks into/out of the Windows Clipboard. If a TSE Pro/32 Column block is pasted into another application, the block will be pasted as a normal windows style block, with each row being a separate line.

Color Syntax hilighting enhancements:

The ToEOL Delimiter tokens support an additional property, making them optionally column based. If the column for a ToEOL Delimiter is 0, then the Delimiter can occur anywhere on a line, otherwise, it can only occur at the specified column. Also, the delimiter can be required to be the first non-whitespace token on a line. To specify this, set the column to -1.

This should be helpful for COBOL, FORTRAN and other languages, that have column specific comments.

Additionally, a new Keywords WordSet property is settable, for various languages valid wordsets.

Finally, there are several new Numeric Formats supported (Pascal Style, Real Numbers, and Customized Set).

New Command-Line Options:

-s for recurSe through Subdirectories, will load all matching files in the specified directory, and will also search in subdirectories.

-iDirectoryPath to instruct the editor to extend its view of the "load directory" to an additional directory as specified by DirectoryPath.

Additional video modes: 30x90, 30x94, 34x90, 34x94, 40x90, 40x94.

Also, a custom number of rows and columns can be set via the Change Video Mode menu that's available from the Util menu. The Full Configuration item Startup Video Mode shares these enhancements.

New way to set the editor's TSEPath variable.

If a TSEPATH environment variable exists at editor startup, the editor will use this, in lieu of what the editor's TSEPath variable is set to.

TSELOADDIR and supporting commandline switch.

TSELOADDIR is an environment variable that the editor looks for upon startup.

The TSELOADDIR feature addresses two needs that users have requested:

1) To install the editor binary in a separate directory from the rest of the editor.

2) To install the editor on a read-only network drive, but have per-user configuration files. This is useful with a multi-user license of the editor, and you want to install only one copy of the editor, but you want each user to be able to have their own personal configurations.

The TSELOADDIR environment variable can also be overridden using the
-i command line switch.

Spelling Checker enhancements:

The spelling checker now knows about HTML files, and when checking a file with an extension of .html, .htm, .shtml, or .shtm, it only checks text that is not in-between HTML tags and comments. Additionally, any words starting with an "&" and ending with an ';' are not checked.

For known programming language filetypes, (SAL, C, C++, Java, JavaScript), only text in comments and strings is checked.

For other types of files, lines starting with a leading '>' are not checked.

Miscellaneous enhancements:

New/Enhanced Command Options:

MACRO LANGUAGE SYNTAX: Pre-Defined Constants

USING MACRO LANGUAGE FEATURES: Event Macros
