A new and improved version is already in beta (in the photo above you can see it running on @Macarlo's Warp 4 FP12). You can download it from the following URL:

New in this beta release

New: Plain text import/export of user symbols.

New: Command-line switch for automatic import/update of user symbols at startup.

New: Context-sensitive popup-menus with items for quick  entry of user symbols and complete set of precision values.

Enhanced: Parser recognizes bit-wise operators as well as the complement operator from the C/C++ programming language. This is currently undocumented except for this notice. You are welcome to contact the author for more info.

Improved: Unregistered operation without restrictions during trial period. The trial period has been extended to 60 days,  after that you will be reminded to register.

Improved: Online help slightly more informative.

BugFix: Symbol parsing could accidently unlink symbols when performing update or delete operations.

Changed: This version only comes in one edition. It replaces both the professional and standard editions of previous versions. A new registration key is required.

If you have registered the professional edition of previous versions, you can contact BMT Micro (or the author directly) for an updated key.

If you have registered the standard edition of previous versions, you can order an upgrade from BMT Micro. If you do it now it will only cost $9.

NOTE: You don't have to be a registered user to fully test the beta.

The WarpCalc calculator package contains two scientific calculators, one for the command line (CLI) and one for the OS/2 Presentation Manager (GUI). Both versions share the same core capabilities. In addition to common calculator features they allow the user to define his/her own symbols.

For documentation on the GUI version refer to the extensive online help. Depending on the context, online help can be called up by pressing F1 on the keyboard, selecting the help items on the system menu or simply clicking the help button in the current dialog.

For documentation on the CLI version have a look at 2nd last section of this readme.

System requirements

Both the CLI version and the GUI version are 32-bit OS/2 applications. Calc should run on OS/2 2.x and above. WarpCalc runs on OS/2 3.x (Warp), but Warp 4 or later is recommended for visual appearance. WarpCalc uses the WarpSans font introduced with Warp 4. For Warp 3 users not having this font it can be installed by replacing the Warp 3 version of the file dspres.dll with the Warp 4 version downloadable from the WarpCalc home page at BMT Micro.

Installation

Neither the CLI version nor the GUI version requires any special installation. Simply copy the included files to a directory of your choice.

If you are using Warp 4, the WPS will create a program object for WarpCalc when you drag the executable to your desktop. If you want to start WarpCalc from the desktop popup menu follow these steps:

1. Click mouse button 2 on the desktop.
2. Select "Properties" from the menu.
3. Click on the "Menu" tab.
4. Drag the WarpCalc program object over the
"actions on menu" list box and drop it.
