Hi All...
I just tested here on my default Beta (and Gamma) Test Machine the new OS released
by Microsoft, the long awaited Windows XP (Xperience). I installed the Professional
version of Windows XP as an upgrade over Windows 2000 Professional. I booted
this new OS directly from his CD, commanded the Update and that is all. The
Windows XP don't asked me about any options I will chose and after exactly 90
minutes the new environment was ready for work! I tested here dozens of applications
and tools on Windows XP without a new Install, because the Upgrade Program is
simply perfect: I"ve 320 softwares installed in my Web IDE based on Windows
2000 Pro and Windows XP preserved all shortcuts for them!!
Yeah, man, now I'm forced to agree Microsoft. Bill Gates really released the ultimate OS for all webmasters and surfers. On this new Operating System you can burn CD directly from the Net, by a simple drag-and-drop from the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 installed by the Upgrade Program of XP Pro.
All of my programs installed successfully on Windows 2000 Pro and now migrated to Windows XP Pro are running here just fine, except the Adaptec Direct CD for LG CD Writer Drive (this one was uninstalled by the Upgrade Program because entered in conflict with him). I Tested on this new Web IDE 32 HTML Authoring Tools, as Namo Web Editor, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Allaire Home Site, Hot Dog Professional, HyperText Studio etc etc etc and dozens of editors for programmers, like Boxer, UltraEdit, EditPlus, TextPad etc etc etc; also I evaluated special tools for webmasters as HTMLGuard, NetMedic and apps as the awarded winning 12 Ghost Suite and all of them are running just fine here, quickly and smooth!! Note that the minimum requeriment for Windows XP, second Microsoft, is Pentium 450 + 128MB RAM. I this test I used my obsolete Pentium 200 with 200 MB EDO RAM and the performance is rather than Windows 2000 Pro.
I'm writing this review on Windows 2000 Pro using Boxer Text Editor at the same time that I am uploading around 36 updated files using Cute FTP 4.2, Cute FTP Professional 1.0 and UltraEdit 32 (only for Werb pages). At the same time I'm optimizing the partition C (just the one where this new OS resides) using his native Defragmenter machine, that defrags, optimizes and compress files, moving a lot of the at the starting point of my 10.2 Western Digital HDD.

Is Windows XP Ready For The Enterprise?
While Microsoft's latest
OS may offer a compelling upgrade
case for small businesses and home users, the enterprise
worthiness of Windows XP is still subject for debate. Each
day this week, Tech Update focuses on key Windows XP features
and issues, and how they will impact your decision to upgrade
or to stand pat.
